MAIN PROJECTS
Bacardi CHP Plant, Cataño PR
In 2022-2023, Fermin Industrial Metal Works Inc. installed Bacardi’s Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system, integrating mechanical components to generate steam, chilled water, and electricity—reducing grid reliance and optimizing energy recovery.
Our work included fabrication, construction, assembly, structural supports, inspections, and testing of the CHP plant’s piping systems, covering:
– LPG and Biogas System (LPG, BG)
– Chilled Water System (CHW)
– Saturated Steam and Condensate Water System (SS, CRW)
– Industrial Water and Purge Water System (IW, PUW)
– Demineralized and Drinking Water System (DEMI, DW)
– Compressed Air System (AC)
– Exhaust Gas System (EXH)
– Gas Turbine Auxiliary Systems (Ventilation, Air Intake, etc.)
This installation was vital for reliable energy supply and supported Bacardi’s sustainability initiatives.
Janssen CHP Plant, Gurabo PR
Fermin Industrial Metal Works Inc. (FIMW) played a key role in the mechanical installation of the CHP plant at Janssen Ortho, LLC. The facility features two 3.35 MW engines (totaling 6.7 MW) that supply electricity to three Janssen Ortho complexes while recovering heat for steam production. Additionally, the plant incorporates a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) station, exhaust gas treatment, and battery backup systems to enhance reliability.
FIMW’s scope of work included the mechanical installation, covering fabrication, assembly, structural supports, and testing of the piping systems. The installed systems encompassed:
– Hot Water Circulation System (HTC)
– Hot Water System (HTW)
– Lubrication Oil System (LO)
– Lubrication Oil Pump System (LOP)
– Low-Temperature Water System (LTW)
– Natural Gas System (NG)
– Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) System (GNL)
– Exhaust Gas System (EXH)
Completed between August 2023 and May 2024, this project ensured a stable energy supply and optimized Janssen Ortho’s operational efficiency.
GeneraPR, Central Aguirre
Maintenance Contract with Genera PR Aguirre.
Fermin Industrial Metal Works Inc. provides mechanical maintenance services for Genera PR Aguirre, ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of its equipment. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
– Replacement of oils in equipment
– Replacement of bearings
– Replacement of pump motors
– Pump preparation and servicing
– Decoupling and coupling of fan motors
– Repair of cooling systems
– Preparation of piping for welding and mechanical processes
– Replacement of ducts and gaskets
– Alignment of motors and fans for pumps
– Replacement of process valves and pipe accessories
– Repair and replacement of fan transmitters
– Additional related maintenance tasks
Through this contract, Fermin Industrial Metal Works Inc. ensures the optimal performance of Genera PR Aguirre’s systems, minimizing downtime and maintaining operational standards.
